Bilad al-Orb - Arab Lands

Special edition of the famous nationalist anthem, performed by Sabah Fakhri. The song was originally composed in the 1930s by Mohammad and Ahmad Flayfel to the lyrics of the nationalist leader Fakhri al-Barudi, who had mentored Sabah Fakhri when he was still a rising young name in the art world. Sabah gave himself the family name Fakhri in honor of his patron Fakhri Bey. In this recording, he pays tribute to his mentor by singing his most widely remembered song, which has created the cornerstone for patriotic songs throughout the Arab World.

Composed Mohammad Flayfel to the lyrics of the Palestinian poet Ibrahim Toqan. This anthem was used by the Palestinians in their uprising against the British Mandate, and the Jewish immigration to Palestine, in 1936-1939. It became an instant classic in the Arab World and continues to be very popular until today.

Humat al-Diyyar - Guardians of the Homeland

This is the Syrian National Anthem, composed by Mohammad Flayfel to the lyrics of the Syrian poet Khalil Mardam Bey in 1937. It was adopted as the official anthem after an official competition to pick the best anthem, and as a result, both Mardam Bey and Flayfel received the Medal of Honor, Excellence Class, from President Hashem al-Atasi. 

Allahu Akbar - God is Great

 
This is a nationalist war song, which became famous in Syria during the Suez Canal War of 1956. It was later adopted by Libyanl leader Muammar Gaddafi as the official anthem of Libya. 

Watani Habibi - My Homeland My Love

 
This operetta was composed in 1958 by the musician Mohammad Abd al-Wahab to commemorate the Syrian-Egyptian Union. It was performed by Abd al-Halim Hafez from Egypt, Sabah from Lebanon, Warda from Alvgeria, Fayzeh Ahmad and Najat al-Saghira from Syria. The song praises Arab unity and is considered one of the finest patriotic songs of the Arab World in the 20th century. 

Min Qasiyun - From Mount Qasiyun

This song was made by Dalal al-Shimali, and played repeatedly on Syrian Radio and TV on the day of the Correction Movement that brought President Hafez al-Asad to power on November 16, 1970.
