After collapse of the Ottoman Empire, Jamal Pasha traveled to Tbilisi, where he was assassinated along with his secretary, by three Armenians, Stepan Dzaghigian, Artashes Gevorgyan, and Petros Ter Poghosyan, in retribution for his role in the Armenian Genocide.
