Taha Hussein was in Hama to visit the grave of Abu Alaa al-Maari (973-1058) the world famous blind Syrian philosopher and poet. This photo was taken at Abu al-Fidaa Hotel.

With back to camera, Taha Hussein is seventh from left. Second from left, looking at the camera, is chief of the National Bloc in Hama, Abdul Qader al-Kaylani. Fifth from left is Khaled al-Daghestani, the governor of Hama. On the opposite side, from left to right: Mohammad Anees al-Muluhi, Abdul Qader al-Mazni, Munir al-Barazi, Mufti of Hama Mohammad Said al-Naasani, Ignatius Harika. To the left side of the table, in military attire, is commander of the Hama Police, Husni al-Rifaii.
