These photos were taken during Quwatli's exile to Europe and Egypt after the March 1949 coup of General Husni al-Zaim. A journalist from the Egyptian magazine, Akher Saa, approached Quwatli with questions, and photographs, while he was staying at the Hotel des Bergues in Geneva.
