The first photos of President Quwatli in his Geneva exile after leaving office in Syria - July 1949

President Quwatli was photographed at a park in Geneva, walking with his wife, First Lady Bahira al-Dalati and their children. He was toppled by a coup in March 1949 and forced to resign from office in April. Less than two weeks after this photo was taken, architect of the coup, President Husni al-Zaim, was toppled and killed in mid-August 1949.
