President Shukri al-Quwatli's first interview from Geneva after the Zaim coup - 6 July 1949

The interview was given to the Egyptian periodical Akher Saa. It was Quwatli's first after his arrest and forced resignation from the Syrian Presidency, at the hands of Husni al-Zaim, architect of Syria's first coup in March 1949. Thirty-eight days later, another coup took place in Syria, toppling General Husni al-Zaim.
