Abdul Razzaq al-Dandashi (1899-1935) was a prominent nationalist from the Tal Kalakh province who founded the League of National Action in the Lebanese mountain village of Qarnail in 1932. Its goal was to combat the French and British occupation of the Middle East. He brought a leading coalition of Western-educated intellectuals into the League, like Zaki al-Arsuzi, Ahmad Munif al-Aidi, Costantine Zureik, Sabri al-Asali, and Ahmad al-Sharabati. Dandashi died young, at the age of 36, in a tragic train accident.
