The governor of Hama refusing to bring down Gamal Abdul Nasser's photo on the day of the coup that toppled union with Egypt - Sep 28, 1961

Yassin al-Ferjani, a retired officer, was one of the co-creators of the United Arab Republic (UAR) who traveled to Cairo with fellow officers in January 1958, pleading Nasser for union with Syria.
