Shawkat al-Aidi, one of the heroes of the Syrian Revolt who was killed by the French in 1925. He is standing first from left and next to him (also in military uniform) is his friend Samir al-Rafii. Sitting in the middle is Munif al-Aidi, the veteran educator and founder of the Scientific National Academy.
