New 08-2005: General Ghazi Kenaan, the commander of Syrian forces in Lebanon, jogging on the Rawsheh district in then-called West Beirut. The picture was taken in the mid-1980s, after the Israelis withdrew from Beirut. Kenaan had a habit of jogging in the early morning in the Lebanese capital, to show the world that Beirut was now secure from Israeli control.
