The funeral of President Hashim al-Atasi in Homs on December 6, 1960. The former President died at the age of 86 and received an official funeral, where his coffin was draped with the Syrian Flag. Atasi served as prime minister twice, in 1920 and 1949, and as president three times, in 1936-1939, 1949-1951, and 1954-1955. He also served as president of the National Congress (parliament) in 1918-1920.
