The cover of "The Brunette Said To Me," a collection of romantic and erotic poetry, written by the famed poet Nizar Qabbani (21 years-old) in 1944. This was the first published collection of poems of Qabbani, and aroused much controversy for the naked women on its front cover. Only 300 copies were printed and distributed in Damascus. In the middle is the hand-written dedication made by Nizar to his father, the nationalist Tawfiq Qabbani, on October 7, 1944. Below is the printed dedication Nizar made to his mother in the first 300 copies of "The Brunette Said To Me."
