A condolence telegram sent by Khalid Bakdash, the veteran leader of the Syrian Communist Party, to the family of Sami Droubi, one of the main ideologues of the Baath Party, upon his death in 1976. Droubi had been one of the loudest advocates of the Syrian-Egyptian of 1958 while Bakdash had voted openly against it in the Syrian Parliament, spending the union years (1958-1961) in exile.
